Pete Fowler has had a long connection with Cornwall. After studying fine art at Falmouth he moved to the Isles Of Scilly, then to mainland. Here he started the self published comicSlouch, along with Rob Ramsden and Tom Barwick, which led him on his course to an art career in London and beyond. He frequently visits Cornwall to paint, ramble and eat pasties.

Asked about this new series of work Pete comments’

“It's been sometime since I painted a landscape, in particular, sat outdoors and painted from life as usually my work comes strictly from my imagination. Landscapes often appear in my work but the stars of the pieces are usually the characters that inhabit them so I wanted to turn the spotlight onto the natural world and in particular the amazing coastline of south west Cornwall. Kernow being the Cornish name for the county.”
